Privacy Policy
Last updated: Jan 8, 2026
Alam is a calm place to save and revisit your links. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control your data.
What we collect
- Account data: email address and authentication metadata (for sign-in and account management).
- Content you save: bookmarks, notes/descriptions, groups/labels, and related timestamps.
- App usage data: basic operational logs needed to keep the service reliable (e.g., request success/failure).
Browser extension data (Chrome)
- API token: stored locally in your browser storage so the extension can authenticate with Alam.
- Page information you choose to save: the active tab’s URL (and typically the title) is used to create a bookmark when you click “Save”.
The extension requests minimal permissions (like activeTab and storage) to read the current page when you explicitly save and to remember your token.
How we use your information
- Provide and operate the service (saving, organizing, and syncing your bookmarks).
- Authenticate you and secure access to your account.
- Maintain performance, reliability, and prevent abuse.
Sharing
We don’t sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to run Alam (for example, hosting, analytics, and database/auth providers), and only to the extent necessary to provide the service.
Data retention & deletion
Your content is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account from Settings; this permanently deletes your account and saved bookmarks from Alam.
